Our Story
SmartChef was born from a simple observation: food safety compliance shouldn't be this hard.
Every day, kitchen managers across Ireland struggle with paper forms, missed checks, and the constant worry of failing an inspection. They know food safety matters — they just need better tools to manage it.
That's why Mark Long from Food Safety Management Solutions and Warren Harding from GBA Solutions came together. Mark had spent over 25 years helping kitchens get compliant. Warren had spent over 30 years building software that makes businesses run smoother. Together, they saw an opportunity to create something that actually works for busy kitchens.
SmartChef is the result: a digital food safety system built around the FSAI Safe Catering Pack, designed by people who've been in kitchens and understand the pressures chefs face every day.
